There hasn’t been a lot of posts of subjekt lately, both of us have been busy with deadlines and work.
My taste in music changes a lot when I am under pressure and have a lot of stuff to finish. The only music that really works for me at those times is heavy metal and hard techno. Heavy metal mainly for nostalgic reasons, I only listen tracks I know by artists like Slayer, S.O.D and Guns n Roses, I guess its easy to concentrate when you know the music you listen to from the inside out..
Hard techno is really hypnotic with its loopy and driving percussion and almost non existing melodies, really gets me to focus and get things done. Apparently this kind of techno music is called “schranz”, wikipedia tells you that this expression originate from 1994 when Chris Liebing tried to describe a certain type of techno while searching for records in a shop.
During my last session of work overload I discovered a hungarian producer called Dj Hammond. I don’t know much about him, discogs tells me he has had two releases “Torture Devices” and “Execution“. I’ve been listening a lot to the tracks on these two lately, I imagine this is the music humans listen to while fighting cyborgs in the future Terminator universe. 5 O’clock news and Death penalty on Torture devices is simply amazing.
